On Monday, the court was told communication data and information obtained from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a DNA test during that period.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is considered the most widely reported missing child cases and continues to be open.

'I Don't Want Money'

Another phone message, played in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I believe what I believe."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a small chance that I am Madeleine? What then? Is that not significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I possess a life here in Poland, I simply desire to discover," the recording stated.

The jury was informed that by means of emails, text messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a effort to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

An intelligence analyst, a data specialist with the police force who collated the information, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with close associates of the McCanns, as per the communication logs.

On 9 October 2024, the father answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "the wrong phone."

During that incident Ms Wandelt recorded a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will continue and I will prove my position."

Kate and Gerry McCann testified to the court from using a security measure on Wednesday

The court heard Mrs Spragg developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to accompanying her on a trip to the McCanns' property in that area in that winter.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had communicated via communication app to Mrs McCann to state the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "a crazy person" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the months preceding the appearance to Rothley, Leicestershire, in last December.

The court learned communications between the two defendants, in November 2024, considering attempting to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to take action," the co-defendant advised Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their home, Mrs Spragg dispatched a text which stated: "We are sitting near the McCanns' house with our headlights off like detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
